12 lasagna noodles1 lb ground beef1 lb Portuguese chouriço, sliced1 onion, chopped3 cloves garlic, minced1 can (28 oz) crushed tomatoes1 tsp paprika1 tsp dried oregano1 tsp dried basil1 tsp salt1/2 tsp black pepper1/4 tsp red pepper flakes1 cup ricotta cheese1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese

Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F. Lasagna noodles should be cooked per the directions on the package, drained, and then left aside.
- Over medium heat, cook ground beef in a big skillet. Drain any excess fat.
- Add sliced chouriço to the skillet and cook until browned, about 5 minutes. Remove from skillet and set aside.
- In the same skillet, sauté onion and garlic until translucent, about 5 minutes.
- Add crushed tomatoes, paprika, oregano, basil, salt, black pepper, and red pepper flakes.Cook for 10 to 15 minutes after bringing to a simmer.
- Ricotta cheese and Parmesan cheese should be combined.
- To assemble the lasagna, cover the bottom of a 9x13-inch baking dish with a thin layer of tomato sauce.
- Arrange 3 lasagna noodles on top of the sauce, followed by 1/3 of the meat mixture and 1/3 of the cheese mixture.
- Repeat layers of sauce, noodles, meat mixture, and cheese mixture, ending with a layer of mozzarella cheese on top.
- Bake for 25 minutes while while covered with foil.
- Remove foil and bake for an additional 25 minutes or until cheese is golden brown and bubbly.
- Let cool for 10 minutes before serving.
