500 ml (16.9 fl oz) heavy whipping cream1 can sweetened condensed milk1 small store-bought chocolate cake1 heaping tablespoon (15 ml / 0.5 fl oz) instant coffee1 package instant chocolate mousse mix
Equipment:
Glass baking dish (Pyrex or similar)Large mixing bowlsElectric hand mixer or stand mixerSilicone spatula or mixing spoonKnifeCutting boardMeasuring spoons
Directions
- Prepare the chocolate mousse according to the package instructions, place it in the bottom of a glass baking dish, and set aside in the freezer to firm up while you whip the cream.
- Whip the very cold heavy cream until firm peaks form, then add the sweetened condensed milk and the instant coffee.
- Mix very well.
- In the dish with the firm mousse, add a layer of the coffee cream mixture, then place slices of the chocolate cake on top. Cover with the remaining coffee cream.
- Chill in the refrigerator for a few hours.
- At serving time, decorate with coffee beans or to taste.
