Frequently Asked Questions

Can I substitute the vegetable oil with another type of oil?

Yes, you can substitute vegetable oil with canola oil, melted coconut oil, or any neutral-flavored oil. However, avoid using strong-flavored oils like olive oil as they may alter the taste of the cake.

How should I store leftover pumpkin spice cake?

To store leftover pumpkin spice cake, wrap it tightly in plastic wrap or aluminum foil and keep it in the refrigerator for up to one week. You can also freeze it for longer storage; wrap it well in plastic and then place it in an airtight container for up to three months.

What can I do if my pumpkin spice cake is too dense or heavy?

If your cake turns out too dense, it may be due to overmixing the batter or not measuring the flour correctly. Make sure to gently fold the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients and use a light hand. Also, ensure that your baking powder and baking soda are fresh for optimal rising.
