With its soft, rich flavors, this cake is sure to impress everyone at the table. You only need a few simple ingredients and some easy steps to whip it up. So, grab your apron and let’s get baking!

Tips for Success

Ensure that your ingredients are at room temperature before mixing. This helps to create a smoother batter and results in a more evenly cooked cake.

Avoid over-mixing the batter once the flour is added. Over-mixing can develop gluten, leading to a denser cake. Mix just until combined for a light, moist texture.

Check for doneness by inserting a toothpick into the center of the cake. If it comes out clean, the cake is done. If the toothpick has wet batter on it, bake for a few more minutes and check again.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I substitute non-dairy milk for regular milk in this simple and delicious moist milk cake recipe?

Yes, you can substitute non-dairy milk such as almond milk, soy milk, or oat milk for regular milk. Just make sure to choose an unsweetened variety to maintain the cake's intended flavor.

How should I store leftover milk cake to keep it fresh?

Store any leftover milk cake in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days. If you want to keep it longer, you can refrigerate it for up to a week or freeze individual slices for up to 3 months.

What should I do if my simple and delicious moist milk cake recipe does not rise properly?

If your cake does not rise well, ensure that your baking powder is fresh and not expired. Additionally, avoid overmixing the batter, as this can cause the cake to become dense. To check if your cake is done, stick a toothpick in the center; it should come out clean.

Recommended Drink Pairings

Panicked and added baking soda, shouldn't have because it would have been nicer dense, lowered the oven temperature slightly as my oven runs very hot and added a teaspoon of vanilla, it was lovely but will stick to the authentic recipe next time

Was easy to make with things I had on hand already. I thought the flavor would be too bland so I added 2 tsp of lemon extract and it's delicious
