Frequently Asked Questions
What can I use as a substitute for white wine in this recipe?
If you prefer not to use white wine, you can substitute with chicken or vegetable broth for a similar depth of flavor. Additionally, a splash of vinegar mixed with water can mimic the acidity of wine.
How should I store leftover seafood cataplana?
Leftover seafood cataplana can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 days. To reheat, gently warm it on the stove over low heat to prevent the seafood from becoming rubbery.
What can I do if my seafood cataplana is too salty?
If your dish turns out too salty, you can add a bit of unsweetened coconut milk or a small amount of sugar to balance the flavors. Adding more vegetables or cooked potatoes can also help absorb some of the saltiness.
