Frequently Asked Questions

Can I substitute the linguica sausage with another type of sausage?

Yes, you can substitute linguica sausage with chorizo, andouille, or even turkey sausage for a lighter option. Keep in mind that the flavor profile may change slightly depending on the sausage you choose.

How should I store leftovers of the Rice and Beans with Linguiça?

Store any leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3-4 days. You can also freeze the dish for up to 3 months, but the rice texture may change slightly upon reheating.

What should I do if my rice is undercooked after the suggested cooking time?

If your rice is undercooked after 20-25 minutes, add a splash of water (a few tablespoons) to the pot, cover it again, and continue cooking on low heat for an additional 5-10 minutes. This will help steam the rice to the desired tenderness.
