Frequently Asked Questions
What can I use instead of corn flour for coating the horse mackerel?
You can substitute corn flour with all-purpose flour, rice flour, or even a gluten-free flour blend if you need a gluten-free option. Each will give a slightly different texture but will work well for frying.
How should I store leftover fried horse mackerel?
Leftover fried horse mackerel should be cooled completely, then stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator. It can last for up to 2 days. To reheat, consider using an oven or air fryer to maintain its crispiness.
What if my sauce is too salty?
If your sauce turns out too salty, you can balance it by adding a splash of vinegar or a pinch of sugar. Alternatively, you can add more chopped parsley or finely diced tomatoes to dilute the saltiness.
