Shrimp with Mustard

Ingredients

1 and 1/2 lbs of shrimp4 tablespoons of olive oil3 to 4 cloves of garlic, diced1 small onion, finely chopped1 tablespoon of wheat flour1 glass of dry white wine1 tablespoon of chicken broth1 1/2 tablespoon of mustardSalt and pepper (to taste)Parsley or chives (optional)

Get Portuguese ingredients

Preparation

  1. In a saucepan heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil and cook the shrimp (low heat). Stir until the shrimp is almost cooked (about 5 minutes). Put this pan with the shrimp aside.
  2. In another pan, heat the remaining 2 tablespoons olive oil and brown the onion and garlic. Add the wheat flour and stir well for about 1 to 2 minutes. Add the wine, chicken broth and mustard and stir well for about 1 to 2 minutes. Add more wine if you want more watery or less creamy.
  3. Mix the sauce with the shrimp in the other pan and cook at very low heat, stirring constantly, cook for about 2 minutes until the shrimp is ready.
  4. Garnish with the parsley or chives and serve.
  5. Enjoy!

Hi Dolores, we just use regular yellow mustard, but you can go with either one (to taste).
