Tips for Success

Ensure that the shrimp are properly deveined before cooking to avoid any gritty texture in the soup. This involves removing the dark vein along the back of the shrimp.

For added depth of flavor, sauté the piri piri pepper in olive oil before adding the shrimp. This will infuse the oil with the pepper's heat and aroma, enhancing the overall taste of the soup.

To prevent the stale bread from becoming too mushy in the soup, consider toasting it lightly in the oven before adding it to the broth. This will help it retain some texture and provide a better mouthfeel in the final dish.
