Ingredients
6 apples1 1/4 cups (10 fl oz) milk1 1/2 cups (10.5 oz) sugar1 2/3 cups (7 oz) flour5 medium eggs4.2 oz apricot jam1 tbsp water1 10x3 inch round baking panButter (for greasing the pan)
Directions
- In a large bowl, combine the sugar, eggs, milk, and flour and mix well.
- Peel 4 apples and cut them into pieces.
- Add the apple pieces to the bowl with the other ingredients.
- Blend everything well until a smooth, lump-free batter forms.
- Preheat the oven to 340°F (170°C).
- Grease the baking pan.
- Pour the batter into the prepared pan.
- Peel the remaining 2 apples and slice them thinly.
- Arrange the apple slices in circles on top of the batter to fully cover the surface.
- Bake for 50 to 55 minutes (adjust time based on your oven).
- Perform the toothpick test to check for doneness.
- Let it cool before removing from the pan.
- Once cooled, give the tart a glossy finish.
- In a small bowl, mix the apricot jam with the 1 tablespoon of water.
- Brush the top of the tart with the jam mixture.
