2 Angus beef steaks80g (approximately 5 1/2 tablespoons) margarine, as needed4 cloves of garlic, peeled and crushed1 bay leafFlour, as needed100ml (about 7 tablespoons) white wineSalt, as neededPepper, as needed1 tablespoon vinegar2 eggsRice:300g (about 1 1/2 cups) long-grain rice1 chopped onion2 cloves of garlicOlive oil, as needed1 bay leafSalt, as needed

Get Portuguese ingredients

Preparation

  1. Begin by browning the steaks in half of the margarine and add the crushed garlic cloves and the bay leaf.
  2. Let them brown a bit and add the remaining margarine and the flour diluted in wine (use a little less than a teaspoon).
  3. Cook slowly until the sauce becomes creamy.
  4. Season to taste with salt, pepper and vinegar.
  5. Fry the potatoes, and then fry the eggs in a little oil.
  6. Chop the onion and garlic cloves.
  7. Sauté them in a bit of olive oil with the bay leaf.
  8. Once the onion becomes translucent, add one and a half cups of water, and as soon as it boils, add one cup of rice.
  9. Let it cook on low heat untill the rice is done.
  10. Place one of the steaks on a plate, add the fries, rice on the side, drizzle the steak sauce over the steak and top it with the fried egg.
