Tips for Success

When adding the pasta rings, make sure to cook them separately until al dente before adding them to the soup. This prevents the pasta from becoming mushy and overcooked in the soup.

Sauté the onion and garlic in the olive oil for a few minutes before adding the other ingredients. This enhances their flavors and adds depth to the soup.

Be cautious with the amount of salt you add, especially since the beef bouillon cube can be quite salty. Taste the soup before adding additional salt to avoid oversalting.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I substitute the beef bouillon cube for a vegetarian option?

Yes, you can use a vegetable bouillon cube instead of the beef bouillon cube to make the soup vegetarian-friendly.

How should I store leftovers of the soup?

Store leftover soup in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3-4 days. You can also freeze it for up to 3 months; just make sure to leave some space in the container as the soup will expand when frozen.

What can I do if the soup turns out too salty?

If the soup is too salty, you can add additional water or stock to dilute the saltiness. Adding extra vegetables or a few slices of potato can also help absorb some salt.

Recommended Drink Pairings

  • Chardonnay: Its crisp acidity complements the freshness of the vegetables.
  • Light Lager: The refreshing qualities of a light lager balance the richness of the soup.
  • Sparkling Water: The bubbles cleanse the palate and enhance the soup's flavors.
  • Herbal Tea: A mild herbal tea adds a soothing element that pairs well with the soup's warmth.
  • Red Wine: A light-bodied red wine adds depth without overpowering the dish.

By beef stock, it means the beef bouillon cube, you add that and the 2 litres of water to the pan on step 4.
