Directions
- Peel and remove the skins from the tomatoes.
- In a large saucepan add the tomatoes, sugar, cinnamon stick and lemon juice, and raise the heat to medium while stirring constantly. With a wooden spoon mash down on the tomatoes to give a smooth and even consistency to the jam.
- Once it reaches a boil, reduce the saucepan to low heat, and let it simmer for about 30 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the jam has thickened (you can tell it has properly thickened if you can make a line in the saucepan with the spoon).
- Once it has cooled down, pour into the jar and close it tightly.
It should remain fresh for up to a month.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can I use canned tomatoes instead of fresh tomatoes for this recipe?
Yes, you can use canned tomatoes if fresh ones are not available. Just drain the canned tomatoes and use them as you would fresh tomatoes in the recipe. However, the flavor might be slightly different, and the texture may not be as smooth.
How should I store the Tomato Jam after it's made?
Once the Tomato Jam is prepared and cooled, store it in a tightly sealed jar in the refrigerator. It should remain fresh for up to a month. If you want to keep it longer, consider canning it properly to extend its shelf life.
What can I do if my Tomato Jam is too runny after cooking?
If your Tomato Jam does not thicken as expected, you can return it to the heat and let it simmer longer, stirring frequently. To help it thicken, you could also add a little more sugar or a cornstarch slurry (mix a small amount of cornstarch with cold water to create a paste before adding it to the jam) while stirring.
