  6. Bake the bread in a preheated oven at 180ºC or 350ºF for approximately 40 minutes.
  7. When the cheese is melted and the top has a golden color, remove from the oven.
  8. Serve with small bite size toast for dipping.

Recipe Tips

To enhance the flavor of your dip, sauté the diced chouriço in a pan for a few minutes before adding it to the mixture. This will release its oils and deepen the flavor profile of the dip.
Avoid overloading the bread with the cheese and dip mixture, as it can cause the bread to become soggy. Instead, ensure a balanced filling and consider using smaller amounts of dip for a crispier bread texture.
For a more aromatic dip, add the minced garlic to the mayonnaise and let it sit for about 10-15 minutes before mixing in the cheeses and chouriço. This allows the garlic flavor to infuse into the mayonnaise more effectively.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I substitute the chouriço with another type of sausage?

Yes, you can substitute chouriço with other types of sausage such as spicy Italian sausage, pepperoni, or even a vegetarian sausage for a meatless option.

How should I store leftovers of the stuffed bread dip?

Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. To reheat, place it in the oven at 180ºC (350ºF) until warmed through, or use a microwave.

What can I do if the cheese doesn't melt properly during baking?

If the cheese isn't melting, ensure that your oven is properly preheated and consider covering the bread with aluminum foil for the first half of the baking time to help trap heat and moisture, then uncover it for the last part to achieve a golden top.

Hi PR! I love your website and recipes! I grew up in the Fall River, MA, area and grew up on Portuguese food.
I'd like to make my own loaf of artisan bread for this recipe. What do you recommend for that? Thank you... I don't know a lot about baking breads.
