Frequently Asked Questions

What can I substitute for white wine in this recipe?

You can replace white wine with chicken broth or apple cider vinegar mixed with water for a non-alcoholic option. For a similar flavor, use a mixture of lemon juice and water or a splash of white grape juice diluted with water.

How should I store leftovers from the baked rosemary chicken?

Store any leftover baked rosemary chicken in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3-4 days. It can also be frozen for up to 3 months. To reheat, thaw in the refrigerator and then warm in the oven or microwave until heated through.

What can I do if my chicken is not cooked through after 40 minutes of baking?

If your chicken is not fully cooked after 40 minutes, check its internal temperature using a meat thermometer; it should reach 75°C (165°F). If it's not done, cover it with foil to prevent over-browning and return it to the oven, checking every 5-10 minutes until fully cooked.

Recommended Drink Pairings

Wine

Portuguese: Vinho Verde - This light and crisp white wine complements the freshness of the rosemary and garlic in the chicken dish.

General: Sauvignon Blanc - The bright acidity and herbal notes of Sauvignon Blanc enhance the flavors of the rosemary and balance the richness of the chicken.

Beer

Portuguese: Super Bock - This pale lager offers a refreshing quality that pairs well with the savory and aromatic elements of the baked chicken.

General: Pilsner - A classic Pilsner provides a crisp and clean taste that complements the dish without overpowering its flavors.

Other Beverages

Lemonade: The bright and citrusy profile of lemonade adds a refreshing contrast to the savory notes of the chicken and herbs.

After 40 mins on 350f my chicken was insipid and still raw…put the oven on 425f for another 20 mins and it cooked through but rather tough? Looked nothing like the recipe!
