Recipe Tips

To enhance the flavor of the beef, marinate it in a mixture of olive oil, crushed garlic, and black pepper for at least 30 minutes before cooking. This will help tenderize the meat and infuse it with additional flavor.
When cooking the onions, make sure to sauté them over medium heat until they are caramelized (golden brown and sweet) rather than just translucent. This can take about 10-15 minutes and will add a rich depth of flavor to the dish.
Avoid overcrowding the pan when cooking the beef. Cook in batches if necessary, as this allows the meat to sear properly instead of steaming, which keeps it juicy and flavorful.

Frequently Asked Questions

What can I substitute for the beef if I want a different protein?

You can substitute the beef with chicken, pork, or even tofu for a vegetarian option. Adjust the cooking time accordingly, as chicken and pork may require more time to cook thoroughly, while tofu will cook faster.

How should I store leftovers from the Tasty Beef and Onions Recipe?

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3-4 days. You can also freeze the dish for up to 3 months; just make sure to cool it completely before freezing.

My dish turned out too watery; how can I fix it?

If your dish is too watery, you can increase the heat to high and simmer uncovered for an additional few minutes to help reduce the liquid. You can also add a cornstarch slurry (1 tablespoon cornstarch mixed with 2 tablespoons of cold water) to thicken the sauce.

One question. It says bring to a boil but the recipe doesn't call for any liquid. How are you boiling it?

Duarte, the author doesn't say but if I could guess it would be the liquid from the tomatoes.
