Why You Will Love This Recipe

Get ready to enjoy a delicious spaghetti with beef and linguiça that will spice up your dinner plans! This tasty dish features juicy ground beef and flavorful linguiça simmered in a savory tomato sauce. Toss it with perfectly cooked spaghetti and a sprinkle of fresh basil, and you’ve got a meal that’s sure to please everyone at the table. It's simple, satisfying, and absolutely mouthwatering!

Tips for Success

When browning the ground beef and linguica, ensure your pan is hot enough to create a nice sear. This will enhance the flavors through the Maillard reaction. Avoid overcrowding the pan, as this can cause steaming instead of browning.

For a deeper flavor, consider adding a splash of red wine to the sauce after the meat is browned. Let it reduce for a few minutes before adding the crushed tomatoes and beef broth, allowing the alcohol to cook off and the flavors to concentrate.

One common mistake is overcooking the spaghetti. Cook it just until al dente, as it will continue to cook slightly when mixed with the sauce. Drain it and toss it directly into the sauce without rinsing to help the sauce adhere better.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I substitute ground linguica with another type of sausage?

Yes, you can substitute ground linguica with other types of sausage, such as chorizo or Italian sausage. If you choose an uncooked sausage, add it to the skillet at the same time as the ground beef and ensure it is thoroughly cooked before proceeding with the recipe.

How should I store leftover spaghetti with beef and linguica?

Store any leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3-4 days. You can also freeze the sauce separately from the pasta for up to 3 months. When ready to eat, thaw in the refrigerator overnight and reheat on the stovetop or microwave.

What can I do if my sauce is too watery?

If your sauce is too watery, you can simmer it uncovered for an additional 5-10 minutes on medium heat, allowing some of the liquid to evaporate and thicken the sauce. Stir occasionally to prevent sticking.

Recommended Drink Pairings

  • Chianti: This red wine complements the richness of the beef and linguiça while balancing the acidity of the tomatoes.
  • Malbec: The bold fruit flavors and smooth tannins in Malbec pair well with the savory elements of the dish.
  • San Pellegrino Sparkling Water: The carbonation and slight mineral taste refresh the palate between bites.
  • Cold Brew Coffee: The smooth, rich flavor of cold brew adds a unique contrast to the hearty meal.
  • Chai Tea: The warm spices in chai tea enhance the dish's flavors and provide a comforting finish.
