Frequently Asked Questions
Can I substitute Maria cookies with another type of cookie?
Yes, you can use any type of plain cookies like digestive biscuits, graham crackers, or vanilla wafers as a substitute for Maria cookies. However, keep in mind that the flavor and texture may vary slightly.
How should I store the chocolate salami, and how long does it last?
You can store the chocolate salami wrapped in aluminum foil in the freezer for up to 3 months. In the refrigerator, it lasts about 1-2 weeks. Just remember to allow it to soften at room temperature for about 10 minutes before slicing.
What can I do if my mixture is too dry or crumbly?
If your mixture is too dry, you can add a little more melted butter or sweetened condensed milk, one tablespoon at a time, until you reach a smoother consistency. This will help bind the ingredients together better.
