Sounds good - will try this weekend. Thanks for the great posts PR!
Here's one back at you - it's a riff on a Manhattan, substituting Full Rich Madeira wine (Justino's if available) in place of sweet vermouth.
"The Funchal" (instead of Manhattan, get it? :)
2 parts rye whiskey (e.g. Canadian Club)
1 part Full Rich Madeira wine
bitters to taste
cherry
Can be served on the rocks (just combine all ingredients and stir)
or shaken (combine whiskey, Madeira wine, bitters and ice in a shaker, shake well, strain into a glass and add a cherry)
Definitely adjust the whiskey - Madeira wine proportions to suit your own tastes.
Enjoy!!
