  3. Season with salt and pepper.
  4. Add the white wine and oregano.
  5. Add boiling water and boil.
  6. After boiling 5 minutes add the fava beans and boil again.
  7. After boiling for 5 more minutes add the rice and if necessary, add a little more boiling water, sufficient to cook the rice.
  8. Stir occasionally to make sure the rice does not stick.
  9. Taste the rice and shut off the heat when the rice is cooked.

  5. When the meat starts to get dry add the white wine, little by little, and saute for a few minutes in order for the flavors to come together and the alcohol to evaporate.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I substitute fava beans with other types of beans or legumes?

Yes, you can substitute fava beans with other types of beans such as cannellini beans, chickpeas, or even green peas for a different flavor and texture. Just keep in mind that cooking times may vary depending on the type of bean used.

How do I store leftover Fava Beans Rice and Fried Chicken?

To store leftovers, let the dish cool to room temperature, then refrigerate in an airtight container. It should stay fresh for about 3-4 days. For longer storage, you can freeze the rice and chicken separately in freezer-safe containers; they will last up to 2-3 months.

What can I do if my rice is undercooked or too mushy?

If your rice is undercooked, you can add a bit more boiling water and continue cooking on low heat, covered, until the rice is tender. If it's too mushy, it may be a result of overcooking or too much water; try spreading it out on a baking sheet to cool and dry out for a bit.
