Ingredients
1 pineapple5 cups of aguardente (Portuguese brandy or strong alcohol) about 1.2 liters5 cups of sugar – about 1 kg or 2.2 lbs2 1/2 cups of water – about 600 ml1 2 liter bottle
Directions
- Remove the leafy crown from the pineapple.
- Cut the pineapple into small cubes with the skin on.
- Add the liquids to the jar, then sugar and stir well.
- Lastly add the pineapple cubes to the jar, and stir again.
- Let it sit in a dark place for 20 days, shaking the jar daily.
- After the resting period, strain the mixture well, bottle it and enjoy.
