Frequently Asked Questions

Can I substitute chestnuts with any other nuts for a similar recipe?

While chestnuts have a unique texture and flavor, you can try using roasted hazelnuts or walnuts as a substitute, although the cooking method and results will be different. Keep in mind that these nuts won't have the same soft, creamy texture as chestnuts.

How should I store leftover roasted chestnuts?

Leftover roasted chestnuts can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. You can reheat them in the oven at 350°F for about 10 minutes to warm them back up before serving.

What should I do if my roasted chestnuts come out too hard?

If your chestnuts are hard after roasting, they may not have been cooked long enough or not scored deeply enough before roasting. Make sure to cut a deep enough 'X' in the shell before baking, and ensure they are roasted long enough to allow the steam to soften the nut inside.
