With all your ingredients and equipment gathered, you are ready to get started!

Directions

  1. Put the red fruits, the orange cut in pieces, the liqueur, the Port wine and the sugar in a container and let it rest for at least 30 minutes (this process will extract the juices from the fruit and blend them in with the remaining liquid.
  2. Place the preparation in a serving jar and add the cold rose wine, add the cold soda and the mint leaves.
  3. If necessary add ice cubes.
  4. Stir before serving.

Recipe Tips

When adding the brown sugar, dissolve it in a small amount of warm water first to ensure it fully integrates into the sangria without leaving gritty bits behind.
For a more complex flavor profile, consider adding a splash of brandy or a different flavored liqueur, such as peach or raspberry, to complement the fruit and wine.
Avoid adding the soda too early, as it can lose its carbonation. Instead, mix in the soda just before serving for a refreshing fizz.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I substitute the rose wine with another type of wine?

Yes, you can substitute the rose wine with white wine or even a light red wine, depending on your taste preference. Just keep in mind that different wines will alter the flavor of the sangria.

How should I store leftover sangria?

Leftover sangria can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. However, the freshness of the fruit will diminish over time, so it's best consumed within 1-2 days for optimal taste.

What can I do if my sangria is too sweet or too strong?

If your sangria is too sweet, try adding a bit more soda water or some fresh fruit to dilute the sweetness. If it’s too strong, you can also add more soda or a splash of orange juice to balance the flavors.

The recipe doesn't call for soda but the directions mention soda. Does anyone know what is accurate for the recipe?
