With all your ingredients and equipment gathered, you are ready to get started!

Directions

  1. Remove the seeds and peel from the watermelon.
  2. Cut the watermelon into small pieces and blend it into a pulp in a blender.
  3. Wash the mint leaves and add them to the watermelon pulp.
  4. Fill a glass half way with crushed ice, fill the rest of the glass with the watermelon pulp, stir and serve.

Recipe Tips

Ensure the watermelon is seedless and fully ripe for the best flavor; you can test ripeness by checking for a uniform shape and a creamy yellow spot on the underside.
When blending, start with the watermelon first before adding the crushed ice; this helps to create a smoother texture and ensures the ice blends evenly throughout the juice.
Avoid over-blending the juice as it can become foamy; blend just until the ingredients are combined and then stop to maintain a refreshing texture.

Frequently Asked Questions

What can I substitute for fresh mint in this watermelon juice recipe?

If you don't have fresh mint, you can use a few drops of mint extract or a similar herb like basil for a different flavor. For a sweeter hint, try adding a small amount of honey or agave syrup.

How can I store leftover watermelon juice, and how long will it last?

Leftover watermelon juice can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2-3 days. Make sure to give it a good stir before serving again, as separation may occur.

What can I do if my watermelon juice is too watery or not sweet enough?

If the juice is too watery, you can blend in a few more chunks of watermelon to thicken it up or strain it through a fine mesh to remove excess water. For sweetness, try adding a bit of sugar, honey, or agave syrup to taste.
